Tutorial: 5 Minute, No-Sew Lace Lavender Sachets
For this project I'm using vintage lace trim to create simple lavender sachets. You can also use lace fabric cut into strips. It's a good opportunity to use scraps and remnants of things you have around.
Supplies:
- Lace trim (at least 2 inches wide)
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
- Dried lavender buds
- Ribbon
- Scissors
Step 1: Cut a 28 inch length of lace trim, and fold it in half. Step 2: Use your hot glue gun to run a thin bead of glue along the inside of the edges. Use enough to form a good seal, but not so much that the little globbies come through the lace. Do the same thing along both edges of the lace. Step 3: Once both sides are glued, fold in half again so that it's 4 layers thick, and 7 inches long. You're creating a double-layered pouch so the lace will effectively contain the lavender. Repeat the process of gluing the edges together, this time leaving the last 2 inches unglued.
Step 4: Spoon in the dried lavender until the pouch is 2/3 full. Step 5: Pinch together at the top, and secure with a tightly tied piece of ribbon. Voila!! Simple!
