Dresden Trims - Delightful Traditional German Craft Supplies!

Dresden trims have a long history going back to the nineteenth century.  They are made of foiled paper that has been embossed  and die-cut with beautiful, and sometimes very intricate, designs. They can be applied to a variety of crafts with just a light application of glue on the backs.  

If you've received a packet of Dresden trims, and are wondering what to do with them, here is some inspiration:

An embellished spun cotton ornament.  
Take a cue from the Victorians, and make a decorated spun cotton ornament!  A touch of glitter, and some Dresden stars will turn a simple ornament into a treasured keepsake.

These darling little die cut scrap pictures make the perfect embellishment for vintage style crafts. A single image on a card, or a gift box, or even placed on the front a little cone filled with treats becomes a real treasure.  Vintage scrap pictures are known for their quality with brilliantly printed colors and embossed details.

An embellished gift box.  
This old paper box needs no wrapping, but a single die cut rose image adds a ton of character.  A bow of seam binding ribbon completes the package.
