Tutorial: Cute Snowman Decorations

These cute snowman decorations couldn't be simpler to make, and they are so darn adorable! Their bodies are spun cotton, and they have little bump chenille arms, plastic hats, and each one holds a different little Christmas goody.  How sweet they would be lined up along a windowsill, or used as place card holders on a festive dinner table!

Supplies:

Step 1: Cut out some small chipboard circles from a cereal box.  Paint them white, and let dry.

Step 2: Use a small craft stick (or toothpick with the tip cut off) to paint eyes and a mouth with black paint. Step 3: Paint some white glue on the bottoms of the snowmen, and press them onto the chipboard circles.

Step 4: Paint a little glue around the inside rim of the top hats, and press them onto the heads of the snowmen. Step 5: For the arms, cut off a segment of white bump chenille, right across the widest part of the "bump." Step 6: Bend each chenille segment to make an elbow, and glue the wide end to the snowman at his side.  Arrange it so one arm is raised, so he can hold his little goody.

Step 7: Cut about an 8 inch length of red twine.  Fold it in half to make a loop, wrap it around a snowman's neck, and feed the ends through the loop to fashion a scarf. Cut to an attractive length, and fray the ends of the twine.

Step 8: Cut a length of red and white twisted chenille, and bend into a candycane. Bend the end of the snowman's arm around it to hold it in place. Step 9: Cut off a piece of green bump chenille to make a tiny tree.  Affix it to another snowman's arm.

Step 10: To make a little broom, cut 3 3-inch lengths of jute twine, bend them in half, and tie them to a craft stick or toothpick.  A dab of white glue will secure the knot.  Glue it into the snowman's bent arm.
