Spun Cotton

What is spun cotton? Spun cotton shapes are made out of dense cotton cellulose tissue that has been spun into molds of various shapes, and hardened with a starch mixture.  The resulting three dimensional shapes have a texture is similar to watercolor paper which can be painted, tinted, and decorated.  All of the Smile Mercantile spun cotton shapes are made in small batches and imported from Europe.
